Description

A fine quality early/mid 19th century rosewood LIBRARY WRITING TABLE, by Gillows of Lancaster.

Below the beautifully figured top, the frieze with its rounded corners and moulded lower edge, features two shallow mahogany-lined drawers. It is supported on "shield" shaped standard ends, united by a turned stretcher and leading to carved brackets and well-carved scrolled feet with original brass castors.

A fine table, with a particularly beautiful and well-figured top. 50.5ins wide; 28ins deep front-to-back (128 x 71cms)
