Antique English Ruby Glass & Sterling Silver Vinaigrette C.1880

Description

A charming little Victorian Vinaigrette in the form of a little Acorn shaped bottle made from rich Ruby Red glass. The top is made from sterling silver (unmarked which is common for these items) with a little ring to the top, clearly for use on a Chatelaine. The hinged lid opens to reveal the engraved grille; the entire top unscrews to refuel the little bottle.

English in origin and dating to c.1880, it remains in excellent condition. A couple of little white dots in the glass, not damage but from manufacture, minor microscopic roughness to cut edges; mentioned purely for accuracy.1 3/4" in length.
