Good Early 19th Century Rosewood Canterbury

Description

An excellent quality early-mid 19th century ROSEWOOD CANTERBURY (or magazine rack) possibly by Gillows.

The four divisions, all of solid rosewood, are dished and feature a pierced carrying handle to the centre with well-turned uprights to each corner topped by pretty finials. To the frieze is a mahogany-lined drawer, with original small bun handles and egg-and-dart moulding around the edge, whilst its is supported on slender turned legs with its original castors.
