Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The stuff-over seats have been newly recovered in a brocade fabric with large gold swirls on a cream background. A lovely rich colour with a warm patina to the mahogany. Dating from circa 1820.

Fairly solid and sturdy, some chairs with slight give. Lots of old mends to the seat rails, and backs. Newly recovered over existing upholstery which was in good condition. Some old worm holes to the support blocks of he seat rails which have been treated with worm killer as a precaution.
