Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
They have extensively carved backs, the carving echoed on the side rails, seat rails and front legs. Lovely age, colour and patina to the oak. Would make a stunning kitchen, bedroom or hall chairs.

Fairly solid and sturdy. Wear and marks commensurate with age – some old worm holes to the front of the seat and back of the legs. Quite a few old mends to the backs, uprights and back legs. Splits to the seats. Front stretcher higher on one chair than other.
