The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The movement has the serial number 10,726,574 which dates it back to 1901.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has been engraved and reads, ‘Presented to G H Young, by the employees of Lawsons Ltd, Dundee, Jan 1909’.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 14ct gold plated and is in good condition for its age with just three small indentations and light surface marks.

The plastic lens has a light 1.5cm scratch but you have to look quite closely to see it.
The signed enamel dial has a short hairline crack between 11 and 12 and a very slight faint hairline running through number 8 but it is difficult to see. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
