A Good Pair of Japanese Satsuma Vases Meiji Period

1900 - 1920
Description

A good pair of Japanese Satsuma Meiji Period Vases. Each being of typical ovoid form with hand painted and enamelled scenes on the front and reverse depicting Japanese outdoor life, with trailing peonies and figures. The bodies are blue ground with raised gilded chrysanthemums etc. Signed to the base and with the Japanese Mon Cipher. Japan circa 1880-1900

Dimensions: 12" high

Condition: This pair of vases are in beautiful original condition with no damage or loss to the colour or gilding on the bodies. Minor gilt loss the the bases and rim.
