Antique English Figural Tantalus in Silver Plate with Cut Crystal Decanters

Description

A wonderful Tantalus or Decanter Caddy, containing three lovely cut crystal cylindrical decanters, all in superb condition. The frame or caddy is made from silver plate and marked for the Birmingham silversmith, John Sherwood and Sons, and dates to around 1890.

The front and back of the caddy has Ram's head incorporated to the highly decorative supports and standing on six hoof shaped feet.

All in superb condition ready to use, the frame measuring 11 3/4" x 6" max x 11 1/2" tall to top of folding handle. Each decanter has a base diameter measuring 3 1/8" and standing 7 1/4" tall to top of each stopper.
