Antique 1886 silver fusee pocket watch Y J Rudelsheim, Wolverhampton.

The watch has a key winding fusee movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is within around five minutes over a 24 hour period. A winding key is included. The movement is signed Y J Rudelsheim, Wolverhampton and numbered 5179 / 39674. It is protected by a fitted inner cover.

The silver case measures 53.6 mm diameter excluding the stem. The case has silver hallmarks for Chester 1886 with the case maker’s mark RH (Rowland Hill based at Spon End, Coventry). The case has some wear to the engine turned back and a few mild "dings" to the back but overall it is in nice condition for its age.

The watch lens is glass and has faint surface marking from use although very acceptable.

The white enamel dial has a faint hairline crack although hardly noticeable, otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch has its original gold hour and minute hands and a later antique blued steel sub second hand.
