9ct Gold Cushion Cased Wrist Watch, 1940

Description

9ct gold cushion cased wrist watch, 1940.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 29mm wide excluding the winding crown and 29mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Chester 1940. There are some fairly small indentations to the case, front and back.

The lens is in good order.

The dial is in its original finish. It has light marking but overall is very acceptable for a watch of its age. Handsome diamond hands (one is a slightly different colour), subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

A new dark brown leather strap has been fitted.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
