This antique French walnut sofa is wonderful quality. with a lovely shaped all around & fine crisp carvings. The cane work all looks original & is in great condition, with double skin caning all around. Most of the fine carvings have applied gilding. I've just had this sofa recovered with a cream linen fabric. The seat cushion looks quite deep, but it's filled with new feathers, so will sink a lot. To be honest, it needs some scatter cushions on the back, or one single shaped cushion & we will make what ever someone wants. This sofa is in great condition & I would date it to around the 1880-90's period, but it might be even older.

The darker small patches on the cane work are not holes or damage. They are just darker remnants of the darker stain that was originally on the cane.
