Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
This suite consists of a 2 seater settee & 2 armchairs. All the double cane is in good original condition. A lot of people seem to think this Chinoiserie furniture is Chinese, because of the decoration, but it is in fact English & was very much the fashion in the 1700's. This suite came out of a private London residence along with a pair of matching armchairs, a large display cabinet & various incidental furniture, all matching. It would be nice to keep it all together, but I appreciate the fact that not everyone will need it all. All the other items should be on my web site, unless they have been sold.

If I was buying this set, I would take it with the 2 extra armchairs which are also on another page of this site, because the 5 pieces would sit very well together. This 3 piece suite is very comfortable, because all the cushions have been generously filled with feathers. It also sits on the original metal casters.

Please note that the cushions showing on the backs of the 2 seater have now been changed to match the shape of the back & are now also much deeper.
