Gustav Becker, Inlaid, Mahogany Mantel Clock.

Description

A very clean ,late Victorian, Balloon shaped mantel clock by the World renowned maker, GUSTAV BECKER.

The mahogany case is beautifully polished with a warm, rich patina. It is inlaid with brass stringing and has a "Sheraton" style inlaid cartouche to the front.It stands on 4 brass bun feet.

The convex, white enamelled dial has black Arabic numerals with an outside minute ring and finely cut hands. The dial is free of any chips, cracks or crazing.

It has a heavy, cast brass bezel and convex bevelled glass.

The 8 day movement has just been fully serviced by our BHI registered staff. It is clearly marked with the Gustav Becker emblem.

The clock strikes on the half-hour and the hour with a clear, resonating, tone.

A really lovely clock.
