Gents 1950s 9 Carat Gold Smiths De Luxe Watch

Description

A gents 1950s 9 carat gold Smiths De Luxe wrist watch.

The watch has a 15-jewel hand-winding movement, stamped Made in England, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around three minutes over a 24 hour period.

The watch measures 30mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1957, together with the name of the English watch case maker Dennison. The back of the watch has been engraved on behalf of British Rail, Southern Region. The case is in good condition with just light surface marks.

The lens is in nice condition.

The dial has a subtle two tone effect it has very minor marking. Original hands, subsidiary seconds dial and minute markers.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
