Description

A fine quality mid-19th century LADY'S DRESSING CASE retailed by the highly-regarded F. West of Dublin ~ makers to the Prince Consort etc..

The coromandel case is banded in brass and fitted with shaped recessed brass handles to the sides. It opens to reveal the full set of ten silver-topped bottles and jars which surround the fitted tray of tools and implements, complete except for a penknife. These include: silver pencil; silver thimble and silver two-piece corkscrew.

Behind the lid is the original hand mirror, whilst in the base are ivory glove stretchers and two ivory-backed clothes brushes. Complete with original Bramah key. The silver is hallmarked for London 1864
