Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The rosewood case is gorgeous, with its gadrooned gabled top with cast brass handle and fluted decoration above the front door which is flanked by canted corners inlaid in brass whilst the whole clock is supported on squat bun feet.
**Thomas Hunt is recorded as a good maker of watches and chronometers 1822-1835. (See Baillie page 163)
