Stunning pair of antique mahogany armchairs that are hand painted in the original Chinoiserie. They are in good original condition, dating to around the 1910 period & have just been completely re-upholstered in a cream linen fabric. A lot of people seem to think this Chinoiserie furniture is Chinese, because of the decoration, but it is in fact English & was very much the fashion in the 1700's. These chairs came out of a private London residence along with a 3 piece matching Bergere Suite, a large display cabinet & various incidental furniture, all matching. It would be nice to keep it all together, but I appreciate the fact that not everyone will need it all. All the other items should be on my web site, unless they have been sold.
