A very chic clock set featuring a beautifully modelled figure of cupid standing beside the clock, mounted in a gilt metal pillar. Cupid is made of bronze patinated metal which is in excellent original condition. He stands on a marble base, a beautifully variegated white marble which is decorated with a gilded brass frieze. The set is completed by a pair of classical vases which are also made of bronze patinated metal to match Cupid. They also stand on variegated white marble bases.

The enamel dial is delicately decorated with floral swags between the hours. It is complete with the original fretted gilt brass hands and convex bezel.

The French movement is by Société Clusienne of Cluses near the Swiss border. It is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum has been replaced and it runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the movie below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some wear to the gilding and only very minor wear to the bronze patination. The marble is in very good condition with just the occasional nibble to the edges. The dial is also in excellent condition with no chips or scratches.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
