Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The black jappaned case is adorned with raised gold and red images and is a sight to behold.
There is a long door to the trunk and a raised and fielded panel to the base. Both the hood door and the trunk door are key lockable.
The arched brass dial has a chapter ring marked in Roman numerals with an outside count ring marked with Arabic 5 min markers. It has gilt spandrels and a subsiduary dial in the top to select Westminster or Ave-maria striking. It plays the sected tune at the quarters and the hours. It is fitted with independent STRIKE/SILENT to both the quarters and the hours.
The high quality movement has just been serviced by our BHI registered staff.
This is a clock that has been carefully cared for throughout it's life and looks close to new in it's presentation. An equivalent clock today would cost many thousands of pounds.
