Description

An unusual late Victorian stool, the seat in the form of a large carved scallop shell and standing on 4 cabriole legs with "X" frame shaped stretchers and bearing maker's label "Edwards & Roberts". Wardour Street, London. The design of this stool was probably influenced by the Venetian Grotto furniture makers of the 18th.& 19th. Century. In very good useable condition. Size:- Height...18.5''...47cm. Width...17.75''...45cm. Depth...16.75''...42.5cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £28.
