Antique Omega Pocket Watch, Circa 1910s

An antique Omega pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, signed Omega. There is no serial number on the back of this movement as quite often they were stamped underneath the dial, but we would date it to the 1910s. It is working well and the time keeping is good to around two minutes or so over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which refers to the Grand Prix medal won in Paris in 1900.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. This one also has a galonne case (800 silver with rose gold wash highlights) with Continental hallmarks. There is some rubbing and wear to the rose gold wash, a small dent to the side and some unevenness to the back.

The plastic lens is in good order.

The enamel dial is signed K A Söderlund, Tierp; the original retailer of the watch. There is a hairline crack running between the centre and number 4, and also some damage on the edge next to the number 5. There are other lesser small marks but not very obvious to the naked eye. Lovely ornate hands (some of the rose gold coloured finish has worn off the minute hand).
