Description

A rare and beautiful torba of the Kizyl Ayak Turkmen made around the mid 19th century. The only similar example I know of is illustrated in the late George O'Bannon's book 'Turkoman Rugs'. The depiction of two large 'Salor' gols in the central field provide a powerful representation of the tribe's affiliation. This is a truly stunning piece and very collectable.
