The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The watch has a stem-winding movement, calibre 19.
The movement is signed Longines with the initials GF for Grosjean Freres, Longines distributors. The serial number is 3,057,954 which dates it back to 1913.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has the Longines name and details of various Grand Prix medals. The inside of the cover has a sunburst effect pattern, a very nice sign of quality.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding crown and stem, and the loop. The case is 800 silver, and has lovely niello work to the back with rose gold wash detail. Some of the detail has worn from the outer edge as you would expect with years of use. There are initials to the centre of the back. The inside of the case back has a Norweigan inscription which translates to, ‘On your 50th birthday'.

The plastic lens is in good condition.
The enamel dial is in beautiful condition with just one short faint hairline crack next to number 11. The ornate numbers are a very handsome of this dial, along with the exquisitely detailed hands.
