Good English Regency Period Lady's Writing Slope

Description

A good quality and impressive early 19th century Regency period LADY'S WRITING BOX in fine condition.

This good rosewood box features inlaid cut-brass scrollwork to the outside edges of both the upper lids, with a brass escutcheon and shaped brass cartouche. These lids open to reveal a well-fitted interior with a navy blue baize writing surface; original twin brass-topped ink bottles and various compartments with lids inlaid with brass stringing.

An excellent Regency writing box of compact size: 14ins (35.5cms) wide.
