Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The top is cross-banded with tulipwood and is inlaid with an oval panel of sycamore, whilst the front features a similar oval panel below the inlaid escutcheon which is flanked by canted corners inlaid with marquetry chequered columns on a background of green-stained harewood. The interior retains some of its original lead lining. A pretty tea caddy.
