Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
Below this top (which tilts upwards if required) is the superb base with a gently swelling triform centre pillar with well-figured 'panels' and typical Gillows carved gadroon decoration along the outside edges.
This leads to carved scrolls and further gadrooning before the column joins the triform base with its beaded decoration. Below are the carved and fluted "melon" feet and the original brass castors hidden within. A stunning table measuring 48ins (123cms) diameter.
