Antique English Silver Plated Biscuit Box C.1880

Description

A lovely late Victorian biscuit box standing on four original bun feet with an integral tray or underplate.

The box is beautifully decorated with an engraved foliate design surrounding a central vacant cartouche to the front.

The hinged lid is topped with a central hand carved Ivory finial. The underside is where the full English makers mark can be found, H J & Co. and EP for Electro-Plated.

Dating to around 1880, the box remains in superb condition measuring 8" x 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" tall.
