Vintage Silver Pocket Watch, 1929

1900 - 1920
Description

A late 1920s silver pocket watch.

The watch has a good quality Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes over 24 hours. It has a generous 21 jewels and three adjustments (which means that it was tested more rigorously than a standard movement). The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover.

The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1929, with a maker’s mark for the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The case has three small indentations to the back but overall the condition is very acceptable for a 1920s piece.

The glass lens is in good order with just minor marking.

The watch has an enamel dial with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
