Very Stylish Antique Leather & Mahogany Wing Armchair

1900 - 1920
Description

This unusual design antique leather wing armchair has a wonderful shape & is top quality too. I would date it to around the 1890-1910 period, but it could be older. I came out of a private residence in Hampstead, London, along with numerous other great items. It was covered in the original old distressed brown leather, which was torn & very worn in many places. My leather specialist tried to restore & repair the leather, but it wasn't possible in the end, so he completely re-leathered it. He has done a fabulous job with the hand dying & it's been all hand tacked. The tapered legs are mahogany, with spade end feet & they are joined with a curved cross stretcher. This wing armchair has a dipped curved back & is very elegant looking.

Depth - 28", 71 cm

Height - 46", 117 cm
