French Boulle Escritoire Writing Cabinet

Description

An outstanding French boulle serpentine shaped ebonised Escritoire Writing Cabinet with extremely good quality engraved brass and red tortoise shell inlay. Inside, the cabinet is veneered in rosewood and the drawers are finished with gilt mouldings. The writing surface has a red hide fitted leather.

The outside of the cabinet is ebonised with brass string inlay to the sides, very good quality ormolu mounts and its original white carrera marble top. All the drawers are oak lined and have their original working locks and key.

Height - 48 inches

Width - 25 inches

Depth - 14 inches
