Description

Very pretty 18th.c. style Chinoiserie cabinet on stand c.1930. Two door cabinet top, with lockable internal compartment for drinks, on a stand with single silk lined drawer raised on slim tapering legs with Georgian style pad feet. Hand painted Chinoiserie decoration across the front and sides and internal door by the Canadian born landscape artist Caleb Keene (1862-1954). Clearly signed on the lower right hand side of the cabinet. With decorative brass mounts, hinges, handles and escutcheon plate. Despite crazing and bubbling to the front (probably caused by exposure to heat) it remains a fine decorative piece of furniture. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops . Keys supplied.
