Good Quality Sheraton Revival Bookcase

Description

This late 19th.Century mahogany bookcase/display cabinet has particularly good quality Sheraton style inlay. The superb cornice having a swan neck pediment inlaid with satinwood, boxwood and stained woods with a central "Prince of Wales" feathers motif. The cornice continues with an arched and pierced frieze and below is further inlay of floral swags and flower heads with ivorine centres. The 2 glazed doors each with 13 pane astragals which unusually are inlaid with chevrons in various stained woods. The interior with 3 adjustable mahogany faced shelves and the whole standing on 4 shaped legs with acanthus and "C" scroll carved knees and well carved claw and ball feet. Condition- very good, original finish, cleaned and waxed. Sizes:- Max.Height...78''...198cm. Max.Width...46.75''...119cm. Depth...13.5''...34.5cm. Interior Shelf Depth...10.5''...34.5cm.
