Gents 9ct Gold Rotary Maximus Wrist Watch, 1952

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 1950s 9 carat gold Rotary Maximus wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is working well and the time keeping is good to within around one minute over 24 hours.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. In the 1940s and 50s, the fashion was for men to wear smaller watches. With today's fashions, this watch would suit a man with a slimmer wrist, or it could be worn by a lady. There are hallmarks inside the snap-on case back for Birmingham 1952, with a case maker's mark for the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The case and lens are in good condition.

The signed dial has a little marking and perhaps some age related darkening but overall it has great vintage charm.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
