Lancaster Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
We used plenty of cable and it can be shortened in situ. Each light takes a standard bayonet pygmy lightbulb. We have not polished the light as a lot of our customers prefer we leave things in their natural state, so the brass is a muted colour.
It is designed to look as though three brass ribbons come down from a ceiling fitting attached to the cherubs at the back. (see main photo). The cherubs rest their feet on a central globe with a pineapple finial underneath.
The details of the cherub's wings, hair and faces are exceptionally good, as is the detail on the globe underneath.
The light measures 88cm from the top of the ceiling rose to the very bottom of the light shades; the centre of the chandelier measures 65cm from the ceiling rose to the finial, and the width is around 39cm. Each shade is approximately 10cm in length.
The three flambe shades are original, and although there is slight wear around the edges at the top of the shades, they are hidden by the shade attachments.
