Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.
Being a very special example, the ferrule is lucky enough to have a highly desirable English design registration diamond shaped lozenge allowing us to date it accurately to January 1883.

The blade has the makers initials for William Briggs from Sheffield. The knife comes complete with the original blue silk lining.
Superb undamaged condition measuring 10 1/2" in length, the box measuring 12 1/2" x 2".
