Miniature Walnut Apprentice Chest of Drawers.

Description

A well made Victorian miniature walnut chest of 5 drawers. Bearing label inside stating " Made by Robert Day Rooke of Lancaster, Shipwright and foreman, Wagon Builders, Circa 1850". The chest of typical Victorian round cornered form with 3 long and 2 short drawers and unusual applied mahogany rope twist corners. The moulded plinth base with the original turned bun feet and the drawers are mahogany lined. Often referred to as apprentice pieces or salesman's samples these pieces were often made to show the maker's woodworking skills. This piece would make an ideal collectors cabinet or jewellery box. Sizes:- Height...13.25''..33.5cm. Width..13.75''..35cm. Depth..7.25''..18cm. Free delivery to most of U.K. on this item.
