A Beautiful Burr Walnut Late Victorian Period Antique Pedestal Desk

Description

A beautiful burr walnut Late Victorian Period antique pedestal desk. The rectangular top with a green leather insert with gilt and blind tooled detail and banded in walnut with traditional block moulding. Having three rectangular mahogany lined frieze drawers with traditional engraved brass backplate handles. The drawer fronts veneered in beautifully figured burr walnut. The pedestals having a further three mahogany lined graduating drawers flanked by reeded pilasters and carved capitols. The sides and back are also veneered in beautifully figured burr walnut so this desk can be used free standing in the centre of a room. Supported on walnut veneered shaped bracket feet and bearing an indistinct cabinet makers stamp to the drawers. English circa 1890

Dimensions: 45" wide x 24" deep x 29" high (knee hole 23" high x 16" wide)

Condition: This desk is in beautiful condition, cleaned and waxed. Replacement leather insert.
