Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
Possibly originally made for commercial or office use rather than a domestic piece with the wider base affording a useful bit of counter space. Lots of unusual detail here; mirrored sides presumably to reflect lamp light, a shaped front profile to the bookcase top (bowing out as it rises), bobbin turned spindles to the cornice repeated as supports in a recess between the top and base, also with mirrored panels and geometic panelled doors to the base. With a maker’s label for the Liverpool company Drury & Hobrough. Presented here in good solid but unrestored condition.
