Antique English Mahogany and Brass Bound Prayer Book Dated 1856 - Original Case

Description

A most unusual Victorian Prayer Book, I have never had one made from wood back and front, this one with polished panels of Mahogany, with a lovely embossed leather spine.

The wood is trimmed with polished brass with a clasp keeping the book closed, another bonus for this example is it still retaining it's original leather covered storage box which has clearly done a great job protecting the book.

Once opened, you can see the book was gifted in the year 1856, the following page showing the book was published in 1854.

Once the interior is inspected, it is lovely and clean. Excellent condition measuring 5" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/2"; the case measuring 5 1/2" x 3 3/4" x 1 7/8".
