A Good Victorian Deal and Mahogany Collectors Cabinet by Gardner of Oxford Street, London. Circa 1890.

Description

This very good looking victorian deal and mahogany collectors cabinet was supplied by messrs gardiner of oxford street, london, in the late 19th century. Gardiners was an emporium dedicated to the supply of natural history items and specimens and good taxidermy, very much in the victorian style of the day.

This cabinet was originally intended for the safe housing and display of a butterfly collection but lends itself to a huge range of uses now for many different small collectables.

All the drawers have corked and papered interiors and closely fitting glazed frame tops to keep the contents safe and free of dust.

The door is glazed and retains the original lock with key. The cabinet stands 27.5 inches in height making it ideal as a side cabinet.

Height. 27.5 inches.

Width. 19.5 inches.

Front to back. 12.75 inches.

Drawers.

Width. 16.75 inches.

Front to back. 10.5 inches.

Overall depth. 2 inches.

The cabinet is in super condition and if the buyer would prefer the drawers re-papered we are able to carry out this work to the highest standard.
