Gents 9ct Gold Cyma Wrist Watch, 1955

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 1950s 9 carat gold Cyma wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, calibre R458, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Cyma, Tavannes, Switzerland and it has the serial number 218449.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1955 together with the Cyma mark. The case is in good condition for its age there are some scratches to the case back but they are reasonably light. The winding crown is a later replacement. The case is a lovely shape and is complemented by the stylish lugs.

The main face of the lens is in lovely condition there are a couple of knocks to the upright edge of the lens, next to the winding crown.

The signed dial has light marking but is very acceptable.

A new brown leather strap has been fitted.
