Gurney specialised in the making of entomological cabinets and it is seldom the opportunity arises now to obtain such work by this maker.
This piece is typical of the deluxe cabinets he made and bears all the signature features that were always incorporated in his work. The 'inch finish' solid mahogany glazed doors that shut against a blanket of air pressure, the internal twin, unit constructed, 20 drawer compartments, the typical side panel mouldings, superb universal cells within the drawers, the turned ebony knobs and, of course, gurney's gilded trade plate inlaid to the top inner right hand door.triple hinges to each door and closely fitted glazed frames to the drawers to protect and display to advantage the contents.the drawer fronts are finished in beautiful matched fiddle back mahogany veneer. The whole cabinet is constructed of the finest seasoned solid mahogany the like of which is no longer available on this planet.

If you require the finest cabinet that money can buy for your collection, whatever it may be, then this is certainly the cabinet you need. Look no further.
