A really exquisite early 19th century French tea caddy in exotic Rosewood with the most intricate inlay.

The top is inlaid in cut brass and Mother of Pearl with the word " The ", French for Tea. The highly decorative inlay continues with the winning combination of brass and Nacre shell.

The lid lifts to reveal an interior as special as the exterior. There are two top quality tea boxes which can be removed each again beautifully inlaid including a little butterfly to each hinged lid.

Complete with a working key, this gem is in superb condition dating to around 1840.

Excellent condition measuring 9 1/2" x 4 3/4" x 4 5/8" tall.
