Description

This very impressive pair of Bergere armchairs are good quality & are in lovely condition. They have just been recovered & are very comfortable, because all the cushions are generously filled with feathers. These armchairs are Swedish & are Satin Birch with wonderful carving all over. Please look at all of the images to appreciate the details. They have a great shape, with carved scroll over arms & ball & claw feet. I would say they date from around the 1920-30's period. Satin Birch is one of my favourite woods, because it has great figuring in the wood & a lovely silky glow to it. These chairs have the original double cane on the sides & single cane on the backs. The cane work is all in good original condition.

Seat height - 18" - 20", 46 - 51 cm - (Domed up in the middle)
