Antique English Silver Plated Egg Cruet for Six by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co. C.1880

Description

A fabulous and unusual Victorian egg cruet for six with unusual egg cups in the form of Tulips, with engraved detailing, the interiors retaining the original gilding.

Each of the egg cups sits on it's own pin to keep in place and each spoon tucks neatly into a cut-out at the base of the handle.

The three decorative feet and cast reticulated gallery are quite stunning. The underside of the stand has a mark for the well renowned silversmith, CHARLES HAWKSWORTH & JOHN EYRE / HAWKSWORTH, EYRE & CO. and dates to around 1880.

A wonderful unusual set in excellent condition, the footprint measuring approximately 7" in diameter x 9 1/4" tall to top of handle; each egg cup stands 4" tall.
