The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The movement is nicely engraved with the name of Muir & Sons, 182 Argyle St, Corner of Union St, Glasgow, Warranted English, Empire Rgd together with a serial number. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Birmingham 1901, with a case maker's mark of CHE for the Coventry based silversmith Errington Watch Company. The case is in good condition with just a little gentle unevenness to the back.

The watch glass is in good condition.
The enamel dial is signed with the maker's name of Muir & Sons, Glasgow. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
