Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The slip-in seats have been newly re-upholstered in a brocade fabric with large gold swirls on a cream background. A lovely rich colour with a warm patina to the mahogany. Dating from circa 1820.

Solid and sturdy. Wear and marks commensurate with age. One of the chairs has an old mend to the seat rail – where it has broken and been glued. It is solid but the mend is visible for the side. Newly reupholstered. Some old worm holes to the support blocks of he seat rails which have been treated with worm killer as a precaution.
