Set 6 Antique Regency Mahogany Dining Chairs

19th century
Description

A handsome set of six antique Regency mahogany dining chairs, the bar backs carved with foliate roundels, pierced twin bar crossrail and reeded ends. With reeding to the backs, seat rails and fronts they stand on out-swept sabre legs to the front and back. The slip-in seats have been newly re-upholstered in a brocade fabric with large gold swirls on a cream background. A lovely rich colour with a warm patina to the mahogany. Dating from circa 1820.

Construction/Wood:

Mahogany

Condition Report:

Solid and sturdy. Wear and marks commensurate with age. One of the chairs has an old mend to the seat rail – where it has broken and been glued. It is solid but the mend is visible for the side. Newly reupholstered. Some old worm holes to the support blocks of he seat rails which have been treated with worm killer as a precaution.

Overall Height: 32 inches
