Gents 1920s Thomas Russell Premier Wrist Watch

Description

A gents 1920s Thomas Russell Premier wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Thos Russell & Son Premier and it has the serial number 103429.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the fixed wire lugs. The case is gold plated. There is some wear to the plate around the edge of the screw-on case back, and general surface marks but overall the condition is fair for a piece of its age.

The plastic lens is a later replacement; it is in good condition.

The signed enamel dial has a charming look with unusual red 3, 9 and 12, together with red infill in the hands. The hands are initially set by pulling the crown out and holding it out while adjusting the hands to the correct time. The dial has two or three hairline cracks.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
