A Cherub Brass and Porcelain Lamp

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1900-1940 this is an unusual lamp made of white porcelain and ormolu with a lovely decorative base showing cherubs around the sides.

The lamp measures 61cm in height from the base of the lamp holder; the ormolu base with three scroll feet is approximately 23cm at the widest point. It is very heavy and has been well made.

On each of the three sides of the base cherubs holding tambourines - seen photo 1. We haven't polished the ormolu as many of our clients prefer us to leave things alone, but a light clean may enhance the details.

Our electrician recently rewired it using silk flex cable, fitted it with an online switch and replaced the candle tube.

It is extremely heavy, and the price includes postage and packing within the UK mainland only. For delivery elsewhere and abroad, please contact us for a quote.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
