Description

A wonderful and most unusual desk-top accessory, a combination double postage stamp box and moistener.

The case is made from English sterling silver hallmarked for Birmingham 1905, so 100 years old, so a true Antique example, and made by the well renowned silversmith, Deakin and Francis.

The hinged lid opens to reveal the double stamp box with a gilded interior, and what makes this a real treasure is the combination with a stamp moistener. Water would be placed below the wheel that moves around to moisten the back of the stamp, (small chip to wheel, mentioned for accuracy).

Excellent condition, measuring 1 7/8" x 2 5/8" x 1 1/4" tall.
